Monday on the town...

Monday morning, Dave and Ruth Ann took us downtown for some sight-seeing, shopping, and some great eating in Buenos Aires. Did you know that Buenos Aires is one of the largest cities in the world. With that many people comes many dogs. Look at this "dogwalking entrepreneur" taking care of many dogs for the day. We caught this guy strolling down the road Monday morning at about 11:00am.

We visited a large cemetery where famous people, political leaders, wealthy types, and national heroes are buried. Their tombs and statues were often beautiful, massive, and informative. Take a look at some of the burials.

Apparently, this country is really fascinated with death. I wondered if we'd see any familiar names on these tombs.

The tombs were arranged in a grid with streets you could walk down and view each tomb. They were placed closely together, and often had doors where they could open up and place other deceased family members inside later on. Very quiet and somber place. The country is mostly Catholic background.
